an attempt at birthday portraits

and party #3...

today we had caroline's 3rd 2nd birthday party here at home with her mimi, the norcrosses, and grammy jean. with the beautiful weather i am once again reminded why it's so awesome that both my kids have summer birthdays.
plans for an actual olivia cake were thwarted by the fact that our cake pan could not be located. we did miraculously locate this 3-tiered server we received as a wedding gift which served as a fine backdrop for the impromptu cupcake assortment.
it was another olivia themed bash. i was actually impressed that i could find olivia stuff. i expected to have to improvise.
oh boy.
birthday girl! the kids had fun splashing in the kiddie pool. they also ate and had cake while still in their bathing suits to keep their nice clothes clean.

now that's a scary clown
not even sure what is going on here. but it's cute.
attempting to get a nice photo of all four kids together:
fail
fail
fail
fail and on to gifts. by this time, caroline was very tired and so ready for her nap. she would partially tear the paper and then hand it to one of her eager helpers to finish opening.
mine!
new fairy wings. i wonder who would buy such green wings??
in case their were any doubts, she is a GIRL. purse, baby doll, olivia doll
and then she crashed. with the baby doll her brother picked out for her, of course.

quentin loves to steal with my camera. he knows how to turn it on and press the button. focusing, now that's another story. here are some of the artistic perspectives he captured today.
grave digger, upside down, on captain's curse
bottles of sunscreen. two.
bucket of random toys blurry and a flag.
portrait of the artist.
feet.
