pickle's pretty sundress sunday!

it is impossible to get caroline to sit for a picture these days. she is much too enamored with the ability to stand and much more interested in everything going on around her. it doesn't matter so much this week, since i took the photos at night after several meals have left her filthy!

cuteness overload

babies and puppies. puppies and babies. - last night we went to visit a litter of ten 5-week-old irish setter puppies at my aunt's house. quentin is a big puppy fan. except that he wants to put them in a bucket. (because a few weeks ago we helped transfer the litter from one room to another, when they were much, much smaller, in a plastic bin.)
i think the kids enjoyed the dog biscuits more than the puppies did!

don't leave the cheesy bread unattended and too close to the edge of the counter...

or this will happen:
-
i should have known that all of the chatter about pizza coming from the kitchen was not just because he was reminiscing about lunch. and caroline sure enjoyed the marinara sauce since she didn't snag the cheesy bread remains.

i tall. i call mimi.

a new favorite game in our house. push one of the dining chairs over to the wall phone. climb up. declare, "i tall." pick up phone and say, "i call mimi." then with phone to ear, say, "hi-o mimi. barbage trucks pick up the poopies. in cans. stinky. ewww. ok. bye." and hang up the phone.

pretty skirt

since grandma ironed it, we had to take some pics of her wearing it :)

brotherly love

quentin really loves his sister. for a while now, he has been very concerned about her needs, often informing me of things like, "sister poop. need change" or "sister hungry. want cheerios." a couple of days ago, we were trekking to western mass to visit grandma and grandpa. both kids were awake in the backseat. when caroline started getting fussy, quentin started playing peek-a-boo with her and making her giggle. we went through the mcdonald's drive-thru for dinner. caroline had eaten before we left because i still don't trust her not to choke on big people food. i passed quentin the baggie of fries and a chicken nugget. he promptly handed the nugget over to caroline so she could eat too. :)

in the epic battle between food and sleep...

chicken tenders win? or maybe sleep? it's too close to call.

sorry for the length of the vid (about 3 minutes) - i don't know how to edit these things. but you don't really need the volume on - other than caroline's lip smacking, the only sounds are in the background from quentin and his obnoxious bigfoot video.

pickle's pretty sundress sunday!

it was cold so pickle had to wear a long-sleeved dress and leggings instead of a pretty sundress. she was also not interested in posing - too many toys to gnaw on.

RUQREUS?

we were. the boston children's museum has $1 fridays, where it costs, you guessed it, $1 to get in from 5-9 p.m. our membership expired a while ago, but there's a curious george exhibit right now and Q is absolutely obsessed with george. we figured even if it was a big fail, we were only out $3. we picked Q up at daycare and headed in. he had not napped at linda's and fell asleep in the car. he was still tired at the museum. he had fun, but he was a very subdued version of himself.
caroline has a blast in the crawlers-only room. pickle met her new friend marcela who has the same birthday as her. marcela was born at the brigham though, so they weren't in the same hospital.
the verdict: worth $3. will probably do again, even if it costs $4 when caroline turns 1.

the beginning of the end

caroline's new favorite skill:
-
she's been able to pull herself up for a while now, but her confidence is growing. now she's standing in her crib waiting for me in the morning and after naps. she pulls herself up on the baby gates, coffee table, anything. oh boy.

i want my two dollars

background info: this is one of quentin's current favorite books. elmo needs to get $2 so he can buy an ice cream sundae. Q now thinks all money is two dollars. he pulls credit cards out of my purse and says "two dollars!" if we go through the drive-thru and hand them money, he says, "two dollars!" - the scene: this morning - quentin: (realizing daddy is not here) daddy at work? me: yup. daddy's at work. quentin: why daddy at work? me: because daddy needs to earn money so we can buy things. quentin: two dollars? me: yup. two dollars. quentin: daddy earn two dollars. buy quentin truck.
