caroline's school no longer sends home a daily sheet recapping the day. each classroom has an ipad mini which they use to capture photos and videos throughout the day. we get emails throughout the day with cute photos and a summary email at the end of the day.

caroline has been working on a book for a few days now. she's keeping a lot of it under wraps but she leaked a few details. it's about princesses. who get dirty in the mud. but they don't want to take a bath.

soccer. now indoors.

we started indoor soccer at the ymca today, or i should say, Q started indoor soccer at the ymca today; caroline stood around whining for an hour while other children played soccer around her.  if she doesn't get her requisite 13 hours of sleep, she is useless.

due to some alarm clock snoozing and an ill-timed morning poop, Q wasn't going to make it to daycare in time to catch the bus to school.  so i walked him over to school when it was time.

as we were walking, i asked him if he knew what today was.  he did not.  i told him it was veterans day.  he looked at me blankly...

me: you know how policemen keep the city safe?  veterans keep our country safe.

on thursdays i pick up caroline from school a few minutes early to get her to her dance class. to save time, i get her in her dance clothes at school. 

she loves walking out into the classroom in her leotard and tutu because everyone fawns over her. she struts all the way to the car, amassing adoration along the way.

while she was getting dressed today she told me, "i put my dance clothes on school because everyone loves to see me in my dance clothes."

btw, caroline and her bestie annie are going to be witches for halloween next year, despite the fact that we are less than one week past this halloween. and that they won't even be going to the same school anymore.

daddy took Q to cub scout day at the zoo.  much fun was had.  patches and belt thingies were obtained.  a snake eating a rat was observed.

Q decided to write his cousin calder a letter today, entirely on his own.

he disappeared into the play room and i could hear him sounding out each word.

"dear calder i hope you get some toys. good luck. call me. quentin"
