caroline seems to have learned how to read. she absorbs her weekly sight word instantly. but she's picking up other words like crazy. sounding them out? from us reading to her? not sure, but it's insane to watch.

of course, she likes to read in the car and  since i can't help her with words she doesn't know, she will spell them out. it's surprisingly hard to concentrate on driving and figure out what's she's spelling at the same time. especially when she mixes up b's and d's...

caroline is learning about musical instruments at school this week.  i asked her if she wanted to play an instrument when she gets older.  she told me, "no mommy, i want to be a mommy when i grow up."

today, at the birthday party he forgot to tell us about until last night, Q told his friend's mom that we are moving. to new york city in january.

at caroline's t-ball game tonight, Q informed me that he is going to his friend chris's birthday party tomorrow.  this was the first i'd heard of it and i hadn't seen an invitation, so i had my doubts.  he insisted that he'd just left the invitation in his desk.

thankfully we had chris's mom's email address, so we sent her an awkward sort of email, to be like, "is there a party? is it tomorrow? is quentin actually invited?"

surprise, surprise, there is a birthday party for chris.  tomorrow.  quentin was/is invited.

and he already rsvp-ed, so chris's mom was expecting him.

we asked the kids if they knew what happened 10 years ago today.

after first guessing that it was the day his middle-namesake grandpop joseph died, Q correctly guessed that it was the day when mommy and daddy got married.

and then he insisted that he was there . he totally remembers it. for real.

caroline had an egg hunt at school so a bunch of plastic eggs came home with us today. she and Q took turns hiding them throughout the house and then the other had to find them. they amused themselves for an hour. hopefully sunday is as much of a success.
