pickle got her kindergarten teacher assignment. afternoon kindergarten with mrs. applegate. Q says she's nice.

play ball. or don't.

caroline was selected to be the "play ball kid" at the wilmington blue rocks game tonight. she was very excited and practiced saying it very loud.

leading up to it, she bounced all over the field. then the dude put the microphone in her face and she went into stubborn pickle (i.e. becky) mode and refused to say it.

the players mocked her. which was fun. because i wanted to but didn't think that would win me any mommy awards.

Q's anxiety level is high again. he is currently very concerned about armageddon, mothers dying during childbirth, and, after seeing a sarah mclachlan commercial, abused puppies.

quentin is borderline obsessed with age - who is older than who, how old dead people are, if he will always be older than caroline, etc.

he cracks me up, because in his mind, there are three levels of old:

1. mimi, who didn't have electricity as a child

2. dr. seuss, who is older than mimi

3. abraham lincoln who is the oldest person there is. no one existed pre- honest abe.

about her new frozen backpack for kindergarten, she actually carried her own belongings out of school for the first time ever.
