RUQREUS?

we were. the boston children's museum has $1 fridays, where it costs, you guessed it, $1 to get in from 5-9 p.m. our membership expired a while ago, but there's a curious george exhibit right now and Q is absolutely obsessed with george. we figured even if it was a big fail, we were only out $3. we picked Q up at daycare and headed in. he had not napped at linda's and fell asleep in the car. he was still tired at the museum. he had fun, but he was a very subdued version of himself.
caroline has a blast in the crawlers-only room. pickle met her new friend marcela who has the same birthday as her. marcela was born at the brigham though, so they weren't in the same hospital.
the verdict: worth $3. will probably do again, even if it costs $4 when caroline turns 1.

the beginning of the end

caroline's new favorite skill:
-
she's been able to pull herself up for a while now, but her confidence is growing. now she's standing in her crib waiting for me in the morning and after naps. she pulls herself up on the baby gates, coffee table, anything. oh boy.

i want my two dollars

background info: this is one of quentin's current favorite books. elmo needs to get $2 so he can buy an ice cream sundae. Q now thinks all money is two dollars. he pulls credit cards out of my purse and says "two dollars!" if we go through the drive-thru and hand them money, he says, "two dollars!" - the scene: this morning - quentin: (realizing daddy is not here) daddy at work? me: yup. daddy's at work. quentin: why daddy at work? me: because daddy needs to earn money so we can buy things. quentin: two dollars? me: yup. two dollars. quentin: daddy earn two dollars. buy quentin truck.

the most wonderful day of the year (for quentin)

today was "touch a truck" in a nearby town. Q had a blast last year, so we knew he was going to go bananas this year now that trucks are an obsession of his. and we were right. despite still getting over a nasty cold, not sleeping well last night, and being due for a nap, he was a ball of energy and literally had to be dragged out, kicking and screaming, at 2 p.m. when it was over. i apologize for the ridiculous number of pictures. i took an even more ridiculous number - almost 400. -
the matching outfits were purely coincidental
- time to get to work -
gotta hydrate
-
i love trucks
-
wonder how this works
-
he found the manual for the front loader and said, "i want this."
-
tractor!
-
literally kicking and screaming when forced to leave
-
caroline was a good sport
-
family juice break
