touch a truck
i clipped an ad out of our local paper for a "touch a truck" fundraiser. it sounded like they would have all kinds of big rigs in the high school parking lot for kids of all ages to climb in and on, as well as honk the horns etc. we decided to check it out after church.

Q was so sleepy that he fell asleep on 10 minute ride there, but he woke right up as soon as we got there (and how could he not - imagine what it sounded like - hundreds of little boys running around with actual permission to honk the horns on big trucks!) Q got to explore dump trucks, recycling trucks, tow trucks, a police car, firetrucks, a school bus, a mail truck, and all kinds of construction equipment.

That is a GREAT idea for a fundraiser! Too cool!
Ok, I would enjoy that. Too bad I live in Chicago where you'd have to bribe three unions for the trucks, pay patronage to four city employees for the event permit and provide kickbacks to five vendors for the signs and advertising.
