i want that
this is quentin's favorite thing to say. he hasn't learned the "mine" word yet (thankfully!) and he does not like to say please. instead he will point to something (the fridge or an empty sippy cup if he wants juice, a box of cheeze-its on the counter, a toy that is out of reach) and say "i want that" until you give into his demands. he will sometimes even give you a "thank you" for cooperating.
in the past couple of days, he has taken it up a notch. if what he wants is in another room, he will grab your hand and pull you to what he wants before starting in with the "i want that" routine. he did this to me multiple times last night because he is obsessed with playing in the dog crates but mommy has the audacity to keep the crate doors shut. Q doesn't know how to open them (thank god!) so he drags mommy over to let him in.
then this morning at daycare, he was lusting after some keychains dangling off one of the boys' backpacks, hanging on the rack out of his reach. i kept telling him, "no, those aren't for you" but he was not satisfied. instead he got linda and dragged her over to the backpack, chanting "i want that" the whole way. he is persistent :)
