now we need to finish moving his stuff into the new room and moving caroline's stuff into the other room. we'll miss the guest room (it was a really nice room) but it was pretty wasted space considering we don't have guests all that often. now we need to find a sleeper sofa we like to put in the office so we have new guest accommodations. right now we only have the couch or the futon (ugh!)

an experiment: big boy bed, step one
quentin has been able to climb out of his crib for a few weeks now. he goes "man overboard" every morning when he wakes up and won't stay in the crib when it's time for a nap. our pediatrician told us to get him out of the crib and into a bed ASAP before he hurts himself. we're not too worried about him hurting himself climbing out of the crib - he is ridiculously good at it (and stealthy!) but we do worry about the trouble he might get into once he's out, especially since climbing up onto his changing table is among his favorite activities. his little nursery room just has too many things that he can get into and hurt himself on.
-
so the plan is to move Q into the guest room and caroline will eventually move into the nursery (once she is willing to sleep on something other than another human being.) i have already picked out the bunk beds i want to get for Q's new room, but i am waiting for a discount code from overstock to save some $. in the mean time, we have converted the crib into a toddler bed and moved it in to the former guest room (step 1 of the room switch process.)
-
tonight will be Q's first night in his new room and in his "new" bed. we put him to bed a little while ago and so far he's seems like he is staying put! we'll see how the night goes.

here he is exploring his new room and bed earlier this afternoon:

I'm sure you've thought this through, but since you'll be leaving this house soon enough, you might not want to make too many big purchases (sleeper sofa) or get rid of stuff based on this house. You might have more bedrooms in Philly!
Good to hear the transition went well! Will transitioned surprisingly well, too. We just talked up the big boy bed a lot.
yeah, i am not committed to the sleeper sofa but keeping an eye out. the futon is definitely NOT coming with us, and i think a sleeper would help the house "show" better when that time comes. i have also decided that i am not a fan of guest rooms since they go unused 95% of the time. i am all for the office slash guest room in our future abode :) we'll see!
so far, so good on night #2!
