roo at the zoo, take two

jeremy had the day off today and it's one of our no daycare days so we decided to head to the zoo to let quentin blow off steam. the kid has so much energy that we simply cannot amuse him at home, despite having a huge fenced-in yard. he needs to be running with other kids. we also have to go to the zoo 3 times to make the membership we bought worth it, so now we're 2/3 of the way there!

this is Q playing with his new fave toy - empty dunkin donuts box. he has been carrying it around for days, and even slept with it a few nights ago. we've put it in the recycling several times but he keeps taking it back out. sometimes you just go with it.

this illustrates our (and by our i mean jeremy's) day at the zoo. go go go. actually, this is every waking moment with Q.

looking at the giraffes, who are finally allowed outside (it was too cold last time we went to the zoo!)

caroline is very interested in the zoo. obviously.

caroline was screaming bloody murder because she was hungry so jeremy took off with Q to let him run and see other animals. i managed my first attempt at nursing in public (moderate success!) so the giraffes are all i really got to see. and since i had the camera, they are all you really get to see.

two tired roos. we need a better double stroller option. this one is so not comfortable for Q. but the price was right (FREE!)

this 5 minute slumpy nap that Q took upon exiting the zoo was the ONLY nap he took today. needless to say he went to bed without a fight this evening! now i am hoping he'll sleep late tomorrow. (jeremy is on an 8 am to 8 pm ER shift and it's another no daycare day so the kids are both mine from the time they get up until bed time - yeah!)

we tried to go to five guys burgers and fries for lunch after the zoo because it is kinda on the way home. both children were horrible (tired) so it was not enjoyable.
