we had orientation for Q's new before/after care tonight. everyone was congregated in the school gym but shortly after it started they took all the kids out so they parents could focus. after about 15 minutes, the gymnasium door creaks open. the room falls silent as 100 or so parents look over to see what/who is there. it's Q. the complete silence continues for several moments. until Q, still standing in the doorway, loudly proclaims, "mommy, i just wanted to give you a kiss." he then scurried over to where we were sitting, gave me a kiss, and went back to the other room with the rest of the kids. after that there was a daycare teacher guarding the door to prevent any further disruptions.
