we decided to go to the zoo again this year. we went last july 4th and it was practically vacant. same today, too bad it was so hot and humid.
this peacock scared the poop out of me. he was up on the 2nd floor of the lorax trail. wasn't really expecting wildlife up there!

i had a sweet coupon code so we got the "deluxe" membership this year. each visit, we get one ride each on the zoo balloon, train, swan boats, ponies, carousel, and camels. the zoo balloon would normally cost $50 for a family of four so it's a really sweet deal. unfortunately, it was really breezy today, so no balloon ride. but we hit everything else.
