human pin cushion

i had my 26 week appointment today, which included the always fun glucose test. the glucose goo was cola-flavored which was just weird and it was a 6 ounce cup, a lot bigger than the dixie cup i remember from last time. but that's not the worst part of the test since they need to draw blood for it too. and because they also have to run iron studies to check on my anemia, they needed to take a total of 8 vials of blood. the first vampire decided to try my right hand first, after spending several minutes assessing the poor quality of my elbow veins. she stuck me twice in the hand before she decided it wasn't gonna happen. she went to get the more experienced vampire. he decided he could get it from my right arm, but after 3 sticks there he realized that my arm veins suck. so then he went for left hand who easily pumped out the 8 vials. so i left with three band-aids and 6 needle-sticks. i sure hope that i pass the glucose test so i don't have to repeat this again in a week!
