This is not really an exciting post other than we moved Q up to the 18 month old clothes since the 12 months were getting really tight. I just wanted to post some pictures of his ultra-preppy Zach Morris outfit. Also, Q was given a set of letter and number magnets by Bob-Bob. He really likes them and ironically he seems to specifically grab the letter Q. As you can see he also loves his toy piano.

Membership has its privileges
During our trip to Virginia, Keira had to work all day on Thursday. That left me with entertaining the boy all day. Our membership to the Boston Children's museum has the benefit of providing you with free admission to various museums around the country. One of those museums happens to be the Richmond Children's Museum. So Q and I met his grandfather (Bob-Bob) there and we played all afternoon. Quentin of course had a blast as usual!

Tent's are for sleeping right?
Williamsburg Wedding
We just got back from Williamsburg where my best friend got married. Quentin had a great time at the wedding and reception. He was actually pretty quiet during the ceremony. One of the other groomsman had an 18 month old in the crowd and we were taking turns claiming whose child had made the last noise. Overally, they were both well behaved. Quentin also had a great time at the reception running all over the place and especially the dance floor. He did manage to fall asleep on his Mimi's lap during the reception. Everyone loved his little suit too. Bad part was the pants were too long and the sleeves were tight but he still looked sharp!
First Plane Ride
Last Wednesday Quentin went on his first plane ride. Due to the fact that we needed to get to Logan during morning rush hour and that we were traveling with a toddler we decideded to take the 550AM train for our 930AM flight. This turned out to be a good thing because as soon as the plane was taking off he fell asleep and slept for the whole flight. He had a great time at the airport walking up and down the terminal as if he were just some ordinary traveler. I tried to hold his hand as he walked around but he was not having it :)

baby's first plane ride!
we're about to head to the airport on our way to richmond and williamsburg. we think we're sufficiently prepared, but we both have a feeling that we will be those people on the plane with the terrible child who won't shut up. wish us luck!

Playland 2.0 and a return to the Children's Museum
This weekend we worked very hard to upgrade our playland for Quentin. While the first one was great, we noticed some limitations. One major concern was the lack of stability the extended corral provided. To this end, we re-made the perimeter with wire shelving which served two purposed: increased stability and increased storage. We also decided to place a tarp on the back wall and then mount the foam squares to it. To keep everything firmly in place, we zip tied everything. The whole play area is soooo strong and sturdy now. Needless to say, Quentin still loves it.
We also made a return trip to the Children's Museum today so mommy could see crazy baby. We are also now officially members to the museum. So next time anyone is in the area, we can get you into the museum for free! Anyhow, Quentin had a great time again though he was a little calmer today. He looked very tired and a bit overwhelmed by the number of people that were in his playroom :) The museum was a lot more crowded today than it was last Sunday.

the magic number
as of yet, i have not determined my sleep number. and in fact, i am substantially disappointed in the bed. it is very lumpy and the mechanism that makes it softer or firmer is very loud. maybe i just have a dud. it is a hotel bed, so perhaps it has taken a beating. the first night i started at fifty, and went all the way up to 100, because i thought i liked a firmer mattress. but it was not enjoyable - it felt like there were elbows sticking out of the mattress in jabbing me in all kinds of uncomfortable ways. i then tried going down to 10, which left a sinkhole in the bed. i ended the night at 20, which was where i felt the fewest number of elbows. then last night, i tried 50, but even though it was 2 a.m. and i was super tired i had to go back to 20 to fall asleep.
i have three more nights to keep playing with it, but as of now, i am not a fan, sleepnumber bed.

Boston Children's Museum (lots of pictures)
Lots of pictures today so Mommy can see what we did today. After dropping Mommy off at the airport, Q and I headed over to the Boston Children's Museum. I can't really tell you what is in the museum other than the playland. Q loved it and was non-stop for the entire 1.5 hours we were there (only reason we left was because the museum was closing). Compared to other kids his age, Q was at least twice as energetic. He went absolutely nuts! It was so much fun. Best part was when I put him in the school bus and within 2 seconds he knocked it over. He loved all the toys and the trains and the HVAC system :) We miss mommy but we had a good time and will probably go back next weekend!
absence makes the heart grow fonder, right?
in a few minutes, we're leaving for the airport. jeremy and Q are dropping me off so i can go on my way to baltimore for a week long fiesta of exciting work activities. in the time i will be gone, quentin will be in the good hands of at various points daddy, grandma, grandpa, aunt becky, and/or uncle jay. but i am sad because this is absolutely the longest i have been away from him! i booked a ridiculous 6 a.m. flight on friday so that i can get back to my baby as fast as possible!
all talk
q is a chatterbox. problem is, he doesn't make much sense, to us at least. at this point we have determined that he can say dada, mama, bye bye, doggy, and up, though he will not do so on command :) he does ramble on in multi-syllabic "sentences" composed of words only he knows. maybe one day he'll just start making sense! :)

Why eat one when you can eat two at the same time
We have known for awhile that Quentin is a little piggy. Here is some evidence for you. We gave him some bananna cookies a couple of nights ago. He said to himself, why should I eat one at time when I can eat them both at the same time. Also note his hairline coming in. It's not obvious all the time but the angle and the light really show what he's gonna look like with hair!

in other news
1. cat caught a mouse. earning his keep. good kitty.
2. Q can climb stairs - oh no! he made it 3/4 of the way up our stairs before he even bothered to stop or look back. i, of course, was right behind him. he was quite proud.
Come on and safari with me
In these trying times, one must try their best to save money. One such ways is to get bags of baby clothes from yard sales, craigslist, and even better freecycle. Sometimes when you get your grab bag home you find some interesting items. Like the shirt Q is sporting. I found it today in his shirts basket and could not resist. Once I had it on, we had to put on the shades. Also in the last two pictures you will notice Q holding his screwdriver. Mommy was busy making new walls for playarea 2.0 and Quentin decided she needed some help. He grabbed his tools and started banging on the new walls. Clearly, he was indispensable to the project :)
